video clip project (windows movie maker)

I've made the video during the fall term as a school-related work. Many thanks to Mr.Derek for his kindess for the interview as part of contribution to this video. As a respect to his privacy, I didnt shoot his face but only voice. I have also received permission from him to use the interview and incorporate it with my video clip made with Windows  Movie Maker.

Mr. Derek's speech is full of wisdom and contains meaningful message. Please pay attention to the flow of the video. Each scene matches the speed of his speech and words.

This video contains scenes and concepts regarding to different areas and corners of downtown Toronto. Not only that, but also there are many implicit important messages for you to realize: a corner, a district, a state, a province, a nation, and a region; all that and their relations to phenomena of the world. The concept of this video "cosmopolis" is inspired by Immanuel Kant's theory of cosmopolitanism. (from my POLS 3040 Political Theory course-kit)

Although I'm writing about religion and philosophy here, that does not put me in a particular bias stance against any other subjects (just to clarify here).

Do you ever have struggles and wonder why life is going to certain direction that makes you sad? You ask yourself why? Those whom you trust and support but let you down when you need them the most? You are nice to others and do good things but bad things keep coming to you?

I believe in all good things. All Gods are meant for their people and direct them to a positivity and hope for brighter future. I might sound cheesy here, but I mean it. I am not from the West, so I might not fully understand the religion culture and its influence on the Westerners. So if the statements make you uncomfortable, please bear me with that. Religion is the spiritual guidance that gives me faith when facing tough challenges and storms. I often go to the Buddhist temple as a break for myself, so that I can completely put everything aside and have a peaceful quite moment. I pray and tell Buddha my stories and ask questions. I sometimes go for the oracles, as I preceive it as a response from Buddha. Huh! Do you think I'm childish or foolish? But those of you who understand will understand what I'm talking about here. By the way I have huge respect for all Gods, no particularity against anything, so please dont take it the wrong way.

My favourite Buddha is "Guan Yin", the compassionate and merciful God perceived from the culture where I'm from.

It's written in the Chinese language, but if you have friends who can translate them, please do so. The message from this oracle also relates to my video "the cosmopolis". The power of morality and its influence. Every little corner has its influence on many. Each corner has its story and culture that holds a strong value and belief. Sometimes each individual corner might conflicts with another, but if they understand to respect the differences and show that they care; perhaps conflicts might soften and mutual peace strengthened?

Toronto is a big multi-cultural corner in the world and is able to maintain  mutual respect and peaceful co-existence. Why? Because it is a wise role model that understands how to maintain all of the each individual culture in good shape.

Immanuel Kant's "cosmopolitanism" has a big influence on me, as his writings have taught me to understand the differences of each individual and treat others equally with respect and compassion. The universe is infinitely huge, so don't you agree that all of us have the obligation to protect this little earth as our home?

Love & Harmony= Peace on Earth (Mr. Derek has taught me this important message).
